Attacks on NRIs

The increase in attacks on Indian origins residing in Australia are of a serious concern. Inspite of Indian government's repeated assurances and (name sake) efforts through the Indian consullate in Australia are of little use. Through mass media Australian government expressed regrets and assured of due steps to prevent them. But those assurances also did not improve the situation. Alarming situation is that if such attitudes are allowed to continue, there is every danger that such racist attitudes may prop us in other countries also, particularly wherever there is a big Indian community. Similarly, In India too, there are considerable number of foreigners from different communities. Till now Indian governments doesn't seem to have taken this matter seriously. Prime Minister Mr. Manmohan Singh should realise the importance of this subject, and if required should send Indian Foreign Minister to Australia to discuss with the top leaders of Australian government and ensure immediate steps to let Indian people there live peacefully.
